I am not a big poetry reader at all, but thought I would give this one a try. It is really more than poetry, maybe a feel of short story in it as well. That is probably why I did like it. Since it was short, so It did not drag on, but is like something you can pickup and read just what you need, a little or a lot. It had the feel of more than poetry I was able to read most passages and not have to guess what the meaning of it is or what it is trying to tell you as I have found in many other poems. It almost gave you a sense of ease or understanding. Definitely a feel good read. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed it.

I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed. This is not your average poetry. It tells a story. It is easy to understand. It gives me hope. It is a quick and easy read but i loved it. There are some spelling errors you have to get past but overall a good book.
These wonderful poems are heartfelt, direct and magical at the same time. The author really tapped into all of our psyches, our yearnings and our faith in ourselves. I love that she sunk the fishline down deep and sprinkled what she sees with a little fairy dust. To be able to express feelings so eloquently is a gift.

Poetry is definitely an art form more subjective than prose. Even two people loving the same genre are likely to have completely different opinions. That does make it difficult to know how to recommend, or otherwise, a book of poems.'Angels Always Near' is a bit different to most poetry I would choose. The poems are all fairly short and they don't stick to a particular format. In fact, it took me a while to get used to the poet's style - I think you need to get 'on the same wavelength' in order to appreciate the poems.This collection does take a little bit of thinking about and searching your emotions to find the personal connection. Inevitably, there were some I preferred to others and some that are definitely much easier to 'understand' than others.Overall, this is a really interesting collection. There's a lot of really raw emotion and it does feel like the poet is attempting to express something from deep inside themselves. Some of it actually struck me as a little uncomfortable as it felt like I was intruding on something very personal. But I guess the aim of poetry is to generate these strong emotions, whether they be positive or negative.To be honest, with poetry being so subjective, this is always going to be a risky book to buy without being able to flick a few pages first. If you're 'disappointment avoidant' then you should probably head to a bookstore or a library (or try this with Kindle Unlimited).
