This romance is about a Scottish lass who loves and English Officer sent along the border lands to keep the peace and stop incursions.So the young lovers💘 must keep their relationship secret throughout most of the book.The book was well written with good editing.

Kidnapped Highland Bride by Bridget Freya is the third in the Ladies of Dunmore Scottish Romance series. Sadly I have to report that this is not the best of the series. Richard meets Adeline at her friend, Grace's wedding to a British officer who had found his Scottish roots and fallen in love. Richard, his friend is a lieutenant in the Hanoverian army fighting against the Jacobites. They have a pleasant evening and them part ways. He only has a pass for a week and part of that is gone. They meet next at another wedding, one where a group of rogue soldiers has randomly attacked and is killing people. He manages to rescue Adeline before she is hurt and one thing leads to another. Both of them realize this attraction is not meant to be long term. He returns her to Dunmore and he returns to his camp.All of these books are pushing the envelope but this is the worst. Totally unrealistic and farfetched, it muddies the waters considerably to get the lovers back together. The characters are basically repeats of the several books, not particularly original. It was fun to read but I spent far too much time rolling my eyes.I received a free ARC of Kidnapped Highland Bride in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This is the third book in The Ladies of Dunmore series. You don't have to read them all in order to enjoy this book, but I think you will enjoy it more if you do, because some of the characters appear in other books and it is fun to watch them develop from one book to another. This book is the historical romance of a Scottish lass and a English officer. It has everything you want in a love story. There is love at first sight, danger, suspense, villains, and of course, lots of steamy romance. You won't be able to stop reading until you get to the end and find out if they get their happily ever after! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Adeline and Richard meet at the wedding of Grace and Douglas. It is love at first sight for Richard. For Adeline, it a tingly feeling, one she has never felt before. As Richard leaves after the wedding festivities, he wonders if he will ever see her again. A few weeks later, the unexpected happens. A wedding is taking place and Adeline and her friends are under attack. The adventures begin as Richard and Adeline are suddenly thrown together. They have to get away from the attackers, but where do they go? Adeline discovers she has fallen for Richard, but their backgrounds are so different. He is a Hanoverian and English and she is a Jacobite and Scottish. And then there is the ambitious Camry, a kinsman to Adeline who plans to marry Adeline. Adeline faces emotional turmoil. How can she live a life with Richard whose ways are so very different from hers when life with Camry would be a life of comfort in her own homeland? Which one will she choose? Read to discover who and why she chooses one man over the other. I received this as an ARC book, and am not obligated to post a review for this book. The review and opinions expressed are my own.
Kidnapped Highland Bride by Bridget Freya was a story about and English Lieutenant Richard and a Scottish lass Adeline. They first met at the wedding of their best friends Douglas Warwick and Grace. The difference is Douglas is part Scottish. Richard was in awe of Adeline from the first moment he saw her. He asked her to dance but realized they could never be. As to not give the story away, he saves her when she was attending another wedding and the manor house was attacked by drunken English soldiers. He wasn’t part of that group and tried to stop it unsuccessfully. There isn’t a dull moment in this book and I enjoyed it.
Adeline MacGowan and Arabella were admiring the musicians at Grace’s wedding to the former Hanoverian general, Douglas Warwick. When Arabella walked away, a man who had been talking to Douglas walked toward her and asked her to dance. She could tell from his accent he was an Englishman. He introduced himself as Lieutenant Richard Holloway, a Hanoverian soldier, which makes him an enemy of her clan. But they fall in love and have many difficulties to face. Her duty to family demands that she marry a man from another clan who doesn’t love her and would treat her badly. Which is stronger – duty to family or being true to your heart?This is a wonderful book with so many twists and turns. The story line takes us through danger as well as romance, well-paced and very intriguing for the reader. The characters are very well developed and hold the reader’s respect. You won’t want to miss this one. It is definitely a joy to read!
When Lieutenant Richard Holloway travelled into the heart of Jacobean Territory for his friend's wedding he did not expect to meet the woman he would fall in love with and later marry. Adeline MacGowen was attracted to Richard but did not expect that he would be the one to rescue her from a group of British soldiers intent on laying siege to another Scottish wedding. After her rescue, the pair traveled through the night to return her to her uncle's care, their relationship growing into love and Richard's offer of marriage. There were many obstacles to overcome before their married life could begin. I liked the romance of this story, rich in details of this time in Scottish history, the drama and suspense, all added to the story.I received a free ARC copy of this book and have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed this book.
