This book is a must have for USMLE Step 1 Prep. If you plan on getting this book the last 2 weeks prior to steps, don't bother. However if you get this book early on and start using it on a regular biases for lecture and cross reference topics or need further clarifications or to look at cases. This is your book.I would use this with the First Aid and use the case files in the end of the chapters and the bold highlighted topics of each chapter as mental maps. Should you hit upon a topic you're not familiar with look it up!USMLE will test you're ability to understand topics and incorporate them into clinical situations.
The authors introduce new topics, then give explanations a page later making for a very frustrating read. The text is overly specific and at the same time; it feels rushed and vague.
For the MSN nurse, a required reading at most colleges, but it's approach was well planed. Each chapter's end ties directly into the next chapter to read. Very systematic with great case studies.
Great resource, book arrived in good condition and was useful in my class. I had enough time to complete the course before I had to return the text book.
Not required in my FNP program. Got this as an additional resource. I've found it useful. One of my favorite go-to books for school.
Concise and a very good primer in pathophysiology. Though for more detailed description you should dig a bit deeper in more specialized textbooks.
I like this book better than Heuther, both if which are required. It goes into more detail on the cellular level.
